Metal Gear Solid Forum

Now this may seem like a rookie question, but after playing MGS 1, 2, 3 and Portable Ops I cannot see how Big Boss turned to "the dark side" I know he wanted to make a world for soldiers...even though he seemed really against the idea in Portable Ops, I never really understood what made him change, maybe it was revealed in the original games, but its something that has bugged me for a LONG time. Any shed of light on this would be helpful.

I know, this has bugged me too for a while. I'm guessing that it was an incident in his earlier life, even childhood that he holds deep inside, some dark secret and resentment that he discovered the only way to control was by switching sides and unleashing his anger upon those he once trusted.
